Wide Rainbow is non-profit contemporary art after school program. They connect artists with the community of underserved neighborhoods throughout New York, focusing on hands-on workshops led by the artists, as well as artist and curator-led exhibition walkthroughs of galleries and museums.
Next Monday, May 14th, Wide Rainbow will be celebrating its third year and honoring the 85+ artists who have been part of the program. This fundraiser gala will be their first ever, along with a host of friends and family, at 99 Scott Ave. in Brooklyn.
Tickets for the event start at $250 a seat which includes a menu by Chef Dria Atencio along with a mixology menu by the one and only Arley Marks. Dev Hynes of Blood Orange is slated to give a private performance for gala attendees as well. The gala is hosted by Maia Ruth Lee, Lola Kramer, Elizabeth Jaeger, Diamond Stingily, Eliza Ryan, Morgan Connellee, Ashley Gail Harris, Bevin Butler.

Susan Cianciolo will be leading a fanzine workshop at the Swiss Insitute this Tuesday. Workshop participants will be educated about Cianciolo’s self-published books and zines, not to mention create zines themselves using materials provided by S.I.
Susan Cianciolo is a fashion designer, installation artist, and filmmaker. During the last twenty years, the scope of her work has included fashion, art, craft, and performance. Her RUN collections produced from 1995 to 2001 were commercially successful and critically acclaimed. Cianciolo’s works are featured in museums and galleries across the world. Most recently she has exhibited with Yale Union, Bridget Donahue, and MoMA PS1.

THIS WKND Melbourne based Centre for Style arrives at the Big Spitty to begin their USA tour. CFS, a space dedicated in showcasing emerging and experimental contemporary fashion practice from both Australia and overseas, will be in NYC for two nights only before heading out to LA. Come through July 3rd for their opening night + potential dance party.
